Zola Jesus (Russian-American Nika Roza Danilova) grew up training to become an opera singer.
After quitting her operatic formation, she started making music influenced by Diamanda Galas, Lydia Lunch and the legendary Swans.
Conatus is Zola Jesus’ third album, from which the dark and brooding Vessel is taken.
